A teenage performer who teaches the way he wishes he'd been taught.
Hello, I'm Jay Sriram, a 16-year-old junior with an unwavering passion for music that transcends a mere hobby, it is the very essence of my being. Over the years, I have dedicated countless hours to training, studio sessions, and practice rooms, honing my craft and mastering the intricate art of sound.
I am honored to be ranked the #3 pianist in Texas through the Texas Music Teachers Association (TMTA) competition. Additionally, I earned a coveted spot in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State lineup for violin, the pinnacle of achievement for high school musicians across the state. As Co-Concertmaster of the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra, I have poured immense effort, sweat, and numerous broken strings into my work, all to demonstrate the profound power of classical music when infused with genuine passion.
In October 2025, I won the American Virtuoso International Piano Competition and performed at Carnegie Hall in New York. From mastering complex orchestral scores to building fully digital tracks in my studio, I blend traditional heritage with modern production techniques.
For fun, I also play the guitar, bass, French horn, and double bass, a versatility that keeps every project fresh.

On stage with collaborative pianist Dr. Michael Schneider (my piano teacher) - violin in full voice, exactly where the work pays off.
Instruments played.
The Piano
My foundational anchor. From classical sonatas to heavy, moody synth chords, the keys let me lay down the emotional template for everything I write. #3 in Texas.
The Violin
Pure raw expression. Making All-State TMEA on violin means I know this instrument well. It screams, it sings, and it completely elevates any track from basic to cinematic. Co-Concertmaster, Fort Worth Youth Orchestra.
I am profoundly grateful to the teachers who poured their wisdom into my life and shaped me into the musician I am today:
- Kalaimamani S. Rajeswari (India): My grandmother and an accomplished Indian Carnatic classical musician, who helped develop my ear training between the ages of four and six.
- Mr. Saravanan (India): For sparking my initial love for the piano.
- Mr. Ramamurthy (India): For the invaluable lessons and deep learning.
- Mr. V.S. Narasimhan (India): For planting the seeds of the violin.
- Ms. Kalyani Shankar (India): For introducing me to Indian classical music on the violin.
- Dr. Michael Schneider (Texas): For over nine years of ongoing, transformative piano mentorship here in Texas.
- Mr. Mai Ki (Texas): For his steadfast guidance on the violin for over four years now. He has been my pillar of support on the violin.
I also thank my family for providing me with these amazing opportunities.
Thank you all for bringing me this far.

"If it doesn't make you feel something deep, it's not hitting right. Music shouldn't feel like an ancient textbook chore - it's a literal living language."
